Opening Line:"It was like being hit by a professional linebacker."You can’t really go wrong with any of the books from this series, they’re all super good with fun, sexy, exciting storylines, memorable characters, and sigh worthy endings. Of course then there’s the larger then life Navy SEAL heroes, capable of anything it seems except falling in love easily. Here we get books 9 & 10 from Brockmann’s Tall Dark and Dangerous series (re-released as a 2-in-1 with a WAY better cover) Using proper military jargon Brockmann gives us delicious alpha-male heroes and just the right amount of action, suspense and sweet romance to keep you coming back for more. And with each story just different enough from the last so that it feels fresh and unique while still connecting the series as a whole, they’re totally addictive too. Each can be read as a stand-alone but I recommend trying to read them in order due to the continuing story arcs, then I dare you not to fall for any member of SEAL Team Ten’s alpha squad.First up was Get Lucky (Tall, Dark & Dangerous #9) and what a treat it was to watch Love-‘em and leave-‘em specialist Luke “Lucky” O’Donlon grow up and fall in love with a woman that wasn’t Barbie doll perfect. This gorgeous babe magnet has just turned down a covert mission in Eastern Europe. It’s the kind of plum job that Lucky lives for however with his sister getting married he wants to make sure he’s around to walk her down the aisle. Reassigned to a special task force Lucky’s new job has him working alongside Sydney Jameson. She’s a frustrating yet pretty (in an Annie Hall kinda way) freelance journalist. Syd also just happens to be their only eye witness as she “bumped” into the rapist on his way out of his latest victim’s apartment. To make matters worse all the victims have had the SEAL‘s Budweiser burned into their skin. It looks the bad guy here is going too be one of their own. With Sydney becoming the bait in their sting operation the pair is forced into a fake relationship, even going so far as fake moving in together. The problem is Lucky likes having her around and likes fake kissing her even more. Yes, the lines between make believe and reality are beginning to blur. In Taylor's Temptation we begin with Bobby Taylor taking a couple bullets for his best friend and swim buddy Wes Skelly. These guys are close, having been friends since hell week and now able to function almost as one. Finishing each other sentences and relying on the other without question when the shit hit’s the fan. When Wes is called out on the teams latest op he asks the still recovering Bobby to go to Boston and try to talk some sense into his little sister Colleen who has joined an earthquake relief organization and is planning on travelling into a known terrorist hot spot. Unfortunately Wes doesn’t know just how much he’s asking because Taylor’s had a thing for his best friend’s sister for years and well, now it would just be him. And her. And she’s all grown up and beautiful and sexy as hell and funny and outrageous and she wants him just once, just until he leaves and Wes is going to kill him, Wes should kill him, it might be worth it though. Help! This was probably my favourite of the stories, The internal dialogue and sexual tension is excellently done as is Bobby’s desire for Colleen and his subsequent guilt and struggles with loyalty to Wes. As always we get updates and brief appearances from the other SEAL team members and even a brief out of country mission. Cheers

A 2 for 1 deal. I liked them both but I think my favorite was Get Lucky. I'd probably give it close to 5 stars. I enjoyed the story and loved the characters. The story drew me in quickly and held me. It moved at a comfortable pace without a lot of extra nonsense to take my attention away. On the other hand, Taylor's Temptation was closer to a 3 star for me. I can't quite put my finger on why but I just didn't connect with the characters as easily as I did for Get Lucky. Still, it was a good read.

Get Lucky and Taylor's TemptationTwo more solid reads. I appreciate the older women hooking up the younger SEAL, I mean who on the brink of 40 wouldn't right? It was fun and always nice to see a guy having to back peddle and put in that extra effort.Bobby is perfect! Love the whole best-friend's sister thing. Makes for some really fun verbal exchanges and it's always appreciated when I guy wants to do the right thing. You also have to appreciate Colleen's dedication and determination. Well done.

I'm so sad that I'm almost finished with this series :(I gotta say ... I really loved both of these stories. Lucky has always been a favorite of mine, and I was really excited to meet the lady who knocks him on his ass.Sydney is awesome. Her humor and wit were a great match to Lucky.Bobby and Colleen ... what a great story. I can't wait to see what's in store for Wes though.

2 great stories. 2 sexy SEALS. 2 fierce, independent women. I enjoyed this book. It was my first by Suzanne Brockmann. I'll definitely read more of her work.

Tall, Dark and DeadlyTall, Dark and Deadly is actually two books in one. First we have Get Lucky about Navy SEAL, Luke O'Donlon, with a really good story line and characters. I gave this one a 5 star rating. Then there is Taylor's Temptation with Bobby Taylor who is also a SEAL. That story was not as gripping but I did like Bobby's character. I didn't like Coleen nearly as much which brought my rating down for this book to a 3 star. Since the books were so different from each other, I wrote separate reviews for each which are below. GET LUCKYI liked Get Lucky the best of all the books in the Tall, Dark and Dangerous series. Luke (Lucky) is a Navy SEAL and a player who has never had a problem getting any beautiful, young woman for a one night stand or a few nights, at most. When he meets a journalist, Sydney, he expects her to fall for his charms like all the other women but is surprised when she turns him down. That makes Luke want her even more but Sydney is not playing his game. This is a wonderfully written book with a story line that is easy to get wrapped up in. I felt so many emotions while reading that I didn't want to put it down. I love stories about SEALs and Luke was great in this book even though he was like a Ken doll - gorgeous and plastic (according to Sydney). This was a light, easy read and would recommend it.5 starsTaylor's TemptationBobby Taylor is a Navy SEAL who has had a crush on his best friend's sister for years. The sister, Coleen, has also had a crush on Bobby for just as long. Of course, neither knew how the other felt. Coleen tries to seduce Bobby but he rejects her because his friend has threatened to kill him if he touches his sister. Coleen is planning on going with a group of volunteers to a small war torn country. Her brother, Wes, has sent Bobby to talk Coleen out of this trip. When she won't be swayed from her decision, he talks to the admiral and a team of SEALs are sent to protect the group. Bobby is one of the team.I liked Bobby a lot but didn't like Colleen. I thought she would be a smart woman since she was in law school but she was not smart at all. She did so many things that showed her lack of common sense that I can't figure out how she was still alive! For instance, she had to sell her vintage car because she was so broke. It never occurred to her to stop her pro bono work so she wouldn't be so broke. Then sleeping with her windows open with easy access from the outside. She thinks she can talk herself out of dangerous situations with gangs. Oh yeah, she is insisting on being a volunteer going to a small war torn country to help remove some orphans.3 stars

Get Lucky Luke O'Donlon, Lucky, meets his match in this installment of Suzanne Brockman's SEAL series. You have absoutely got to love these men in uniform. The character of Lucky got his nickname by being... lucky with his women. Always seen with a stacked, blond, blue eyed babe, usually a decade younger than him, Lucky has the California life down pat. It is fun to seen how he grows in this book and comes to see the value of a solid relationship built on friendship first and sex second. There is a serial rapist targeting women around the SEAL base in Coronado. Lucky is assigned to be part of the task force to catch the guy. He gets assigned Sydney as part of his team and as a reporter, Sydney hasn't the first clue what that means. Lucky is determined not to let her slow him down and turns on the patented Lucky charm. Unfortunately, as hot as Lucky is, Sydney is just as smart and turns him down flat. Lucky realizes that Sydney can really help him and a friendship starts that grows quickly to full blown love for them both. Taylor's TemptationI enjoyed this book and loved to see Bobby struggle with the decisions he eventually made. It was refreshing to have a hero who took into consideration what effect his actions will have when he chooses to follow his heart. The moral dilemma when you fall for your best friend's sister is the core of this story. When two men work as closely as Bobby and Wes, trust is the foundation of their relationship. Wes put that trust to a true test when he asks Bobby to try and talk Colleen, Wes' sister) out of going to Tulgeria as a relief worker. Bobby has always has a special place in his heart for Colleen. Colleen has always had a huge crush on Bobby. Wes has always been around to prevent things from getting out of hand. Wes isn't here this time and Colleen is determined to fulfill her Bobby fantasies.

Get Lucky, 3.5 stars. SEAL Lucky O'Donlan and reporter/writer Sydney work together on solving the mystery of a serial rapist in the San Diego area who might be a SEAL. Lucky is the perfect "Ken doll" and Syd is a kind of plain girl. They make an unlikely couple, but very funny dialog between the two. A sweet story with a nice amount of action. Taylor's Temptation, 3.5, is a contemporary romance until the end when some action intervenes. Bobby Taylor and Wes Skelley are best friends and fellow SEALS. Wes asks Bobby to go to Boston while he is away to convince his sister that she shouldn't leave for a war torn country to do relief work. Bobby has known Colleen for years and had a huge crush on her. This story is a little slow, but much hotter scenes than in the other TDD books. You can tell SB is becoming more daring in her writing as compared to the earlier ones. She really opened up in the Troubleshooters books :) These are not as developed, but what can you expect from category romances. A few really did stand out and I would read again.

3.5 stars. These two books are part of Brockmann's Tall, Dark and Dangerous series. They are better than her early more formulaic romances (which aren't bad; I don't think Brockmann does bad) but not as complex and interesting as her Troubleshooter books. There's a little too much of "I love her but I know she doesn't really love me" mutual misunderstanding in these. You know, where both people think they're the only one who is serious about the relationship. I get irritated when that goes on too long as the only real obstacle to getting together. My favorite in the series is Frisco's Kid, where more significant issues kept the main characters apart. I wish there had been more of Frisco in Get Lucky (his swim buddy's book). I've wondered how he adapted to being sidelined, gaining a child and all the other changes in his life, but there are only a few hints. Still, entertaining light romance.

GET LUCKY 3.5 stars I liked the story, but it felt somewhat dated. The relationship part was okay, but the suspense part… felt like it lacked originality, maybe even authenticity. It was predictable. (Well, the book is from Y2K, so there have been plenty of years for me to read different versions of this same plot…) That said, I have no doubt whatsoever that had I read Get Lucky when it first came out, I would've loved it to bits and begged for more.[Read: 1.5.2011]TAYLOR'S TEMPTATION 4 starsI didn't have as many issues with TT as I did with GL, there were no constant irritations. I think it helped that TT was more about the relationship than outside conflict (or whatever).[Read: 4-5.5.2011]

I don't even know where to start ywith this book . I am absolutely amazed at this author. I was in love, suspicious, scared , sad all while reading this book . I like the perfect / imperfect couples. Lucky O'Donlon was perfect and everyway then you have Sydney the odd dressed reported and they clashed like vinegar in water which made it much more interesting. I love the anxiousness and curiosity while reading This. Then their is beautiful Native American Bobby Taylor and Amazonian Colleen Skelly . Pure perfection in the chemistry . Can't deny love . This definitely deserved ever bit of the 5/5 .

I thought that this was an okay book. The first book of this book left me unimpressed. I thought that Lucky was a huge jerk to put it politely. the second book was much better. Bobby is a heartthrob. the thing I didn't like about the second book was that the characters were talking about doing some relief work for the whole book but spent only one or two chapters there and then the book was pretty much done. I dunno the second part of the book is worth reading the entire book.

I'm giving this book 3 1/2 stars. I read Get Lucky years ago so I got this book to read Taylor's Temptation. I really liked it and I couldn't put it down... but it wasn't my favorite story of Brockmann's. I thought Bobby was kind of weak. It was really Colleen who moved the story along. Still... if you like Brockmann and you like SEALs, you'll enjoy this bbok!

Get Lucky: I really liked it...it was happy, sad, scary and ultimately romantic. Now onto the second book...I liked it better than I liked Get Lucky. Luke was hot, but the story between Bobby and Colleen is hotter. I love when people who’ve known each other forever and loved each other from afar finally get together.

Great characters!I loved the characters, even though things didn't always line up, a fine tooth comb in editing would've made this a better book, but it was enough of a good characters and good dialogue to overlook the rest!

This story gets 3 starts mainly because of Lucky's story. I've been looking forward to his and was not disappointed. Bobby's wasn't bad, but would have only ranked a 2.
